Introduction to SDG

The sustainable development goals (SDGs) are a universal plan for all countries to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. They are a set of 17 goals which include 169 targets.

They provide a focus for the international community’s development efforts until
2030 and are the yardstick by which progress will be measured. They are intended to be tackled as a group rather than individually – the 17 goals are interlinked.

activities we have done.
▪ Goal No. 3: Good Health and Well-Being: We can show that we do regular
health checkups for our employees.

Measuring the Current Status of RDA in SDG

Here we have to check where we stand currently in the above-mentioned goals

▪ Goal no 8 : Decent work and Economic Growth
o Internal survey on how much our employees are satisfies.
o How labors from our suppliers have benefited from us in terms of Job Opportunity.
o Women and Child Labor policies of RDA and their suppliers.
o General health report from Labors from our suppliers.
o We can also ask for status of covid-19 vaccine of labors at our supplier’s end.
o Weather our suppliers follow SA8000 guidelines

▪ Goal No. 9 : Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
o How well we have converted our customer from nonrecyclable packaging to recyclable packaging solutions
o How well we have invented new design which has solved a economical/environmental issue

▪ Goal No. 12 : Responsible Consumption and Production
o How much of our volume is from laminated bags and how well we reduce, actually laminated bags are made of two materials PP and PE, this is a issue in recycling. If we propose bag with liner instead of laminated bags we will contribute in two things
   – Better recyclable packaging made of mono material
   – Less water consumption while production around 250 liter of water consumption per day of production will reduce with use of liner
o How well we have converted small bags to big bags as big bag itself contribute in proper utilization of resources, also we can supply higher SWL too will improve the utilization of resources.

▪ Goal No. 17 : Partnerships for the Goals
o How many and what magnitude of partners we have in same nation
o How many and what magnitude of partners we have in different nation We have to understand how these measurable values will work and we have to coordinate with our suppliers to understand how we can improve.

Once we have these figures and steps further we can decide our goal 2025 and proceed further
accordingly.

Eco Vadis is a French Company and they are certifying Sustainability Initiative by various companies.

o They are having high numbers of companies associated with them, if any of our customer is associated with them we can share our report directly with them.

Best Way to go for SDG

Attached with this mail you will find brand Guidelines for using the logo SDGs We can incorporate below designed logo however we have to take the permission from United Nation to use these logos in our promotion activity.

In incorporate attached logo we have to take permission from United nations at below mail id as SDGpermissions@un.org
– If we get the permission to use the logo we will incorporate this logo in our mail/brochures/website etc.

Or

– They may ask for relevant documentation to support our activities, we have to prepare the documentation accordance with the details mentioned in “Measuring the current status of RDA in SDG” If we are unable to present the document, then we will approach to Eco Vidas. They will help us in developing a systematic documentation for our goals.
Also if we don’t want to follow the above procedure, we can elaborate our CSR and Sustainability activities on our website like many of our competitors have done however we wont be able to use a logo to reflect the same in our promotion activities.

informed and concerned about the things which they would not had cared much a decade ago. Every
day People are getting more concerned about the Environment and Society.

Please also note that

– 60% of consumers find authenticity to be the most appealing quality of their favorite brands
– 61% of consumer are more likely to switch environmentally friendly brands

The above data is how much authentic we cannot say, I have got this from internet but we can surely see the trends and somehow it looks logical.

If we start taking initiative on this today, 2 years later we will be much ahead then other brands in this portfolio.
